Date: Nov 05 , 2026

The Solana Beach Fire Department recently assessed vegetation along the San Elijo Lagoon to identify ways to reduce wildfire hazards near nearby neighborhoods. The Fire Department has partnered with the San Diego County Parks Department to develop a coordinated vegetation management program to enhance wildfire resilience along the lagoon’s open space and adjacent neighborhoods. An informational flyer with planned activities will be distributed soon. This collaborative effort reflects the City’s continued commitment to proactive wildfire prevention and protecting our natural open spaces.
