Solana Beach Cares - Seasonal Donation Drives

The City of Solana Beach is proud to introduce Solana Beach Cares, a new community-driven program designed to support local residents and families through Seasonal Kindness Drives. As part of the broader City of Kindness Initiative, the program offers a meaningful way for the community to come together, season after season, by donating essential items for those in need. Each seasonal drive will focus on a specific area of support relevant to that time, giving residents a simple and easy way to give back. Every donation, big or small, will go directly to a neighbor who could use a little extra care and support.

Solana Beach Cares is a year-round program rooted in kindness and powered by the community. It is more than just a donation effort, it’s a citywide invitation to show up for one another and help foster a culture of compassion. We invite you to join this ongoing effort as we continue to build a kinder, more connected Solana Beach.

Spring Cleaning Supplies Drive (March 1^st - March 31^st)

Our spring donation drive is focused on supporting local families maintain good health and hygiene! Throughout the month of March, we’ll be collecting essential household cleaning supplies to help set families up for success and ease the burden on those in need. From trash bags to body wash, your donations will make a real difference.

To ensure all families receive supplies with dignity and respect, only new items will be accepted. Additionally, we ask that all donations follow the official supply list provided below to best meet family needs and support a consistent distribution process.

• Windex
• Paper towels
• Laundry detergent sheets (not dryer sheets)
• Dish soap
• Sponges
• Kitchen trash bags
• Baking soda
• Kitchen towels
• Body wash

Upcoming Donation Drives

Senior Gift Baskets (2026)

Our Senior Gift Baskets donation drive is focused on supporting local families. Throughout the month, volunteers from Solana Beach Community Connections will collect donations and create gift baskets to give back to the community.

Back to School Drive (2026) 

Our Back-to-School donation drive is focused on supporting local students as they prepare for the upcoming school year. Throughout the month, we will collect school supplies including notebooks, backpacks, markers, and water bottles.

Drop-off Site

Donations for each drive can be dropped off at the Solana Beach City Hall. Items are accepted during regular business hours only.
