City Celebrates Groundbreaking of Lomas Santa Fe Corridor-East Improvement Project
The City of Solana Beach celebrated a major milestone on Wednesday, October 28, with a groundbreaking ceremony for the Lomas Santa Fe Corridor – East Improvement Project!
This approximately $7.5 million investment will bring significant improvements to Lomas Santa Fe Drive between Santa Helena Drive and Highland Drive, enhancing roadway safety, accessibility, and connectivity for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists alike.
The project includes roadway reconstruction, new landscaped medians, Class II bicycle lanes, a multi-use path along the north side of the corridor, sidewalk improvements along the south side, ADA-accessible curb ramps, stormwater and drainage improvements, and upgraded traffic signals and signage.
Funded through a combination of federal Community Project Funding secured with the support of Congressman Mike Levin, the City's Measure S funds, and Transportation Impact Fees, the project represents an important investment in Solana Beach's transportation infrastructure.
The City appreciates the community's patience as work progresses and looks forward to delivering a safer, more accessible, and more connected corridor for everyone.
