Traffic Impact: Youth Soccer Playoffs

In addition to traffic impacts from visitors to the San Diego County Fair, Concerts at the Cove, and nearby beaches, the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) Boys National Playoffs are also expected to increase traffic in the Del Mar area. The Playoffs are one of the biggest youth soccer events of the summer, and run from June 25 to July 2 on the sports park fields east of Del Mar on El Camino Real at Via del la Valle. 

These events lead to congestion of the main roads, so visitors often cut through near-by residential areas to bypass traffic. Some residents in Del Mar have reported an increase in cut-through traffic in residential areas and construction zones.

Plan ahead and allow extra time if traveling through the area or to any of these events, as there can be extensive backup in Solana Beach, Del Mar, and on the freeways.
