The City of Solana Beach celebrated the completion of the improvements made to the beach access ramp and surrounding areas at Fletcher Cove. Improvements made the path from the park to the beach more accessible by adding several new and upgraded features:
- Dissipator grate dissipates stormwater rushing out toward the ocean to keep the beach from losing sand.
- Two shower stations reduce wait time for those returning back from the beach.
- Newly paved ramp and sidewalk create a clear and safe pathway from the park to the beach.
- Stainless steel handrails offer support for going up and down the ramp and stairs.
As part of the project's completion, a new sign has been added along the ramp, detailing what has been changed, and where each of these improvements have been made.
This project was funded by Measure S, the City's 1 cent tax that goes directly toward maintaining parks, storm drains and other infrastructure as well as public safety and other city vital services.
