City Hall Gallery Opening Reception: "Life Illuminated"
The Solana Beach Public Arts Commission proudly presents Life Illuminated, a collection of art from Kelsey Worth, on view now until February 22nd.
Life Illuminated brings together a collection of works that celebrates the radiance, intricacy, and vulnerability of the natural world across land and deep ocean. Akin to traditions of illuminated manuscripts—where imagery transformed text into something sacred—the exhibition positions nature as the subject worthy of focus.
Through ink-wash studies, vibrant acrylic-ink paintings, wildlife watercolors and cosmic interpretations of fauna, each piece becomes a beacon that elevates life through color, contrast, and expressive detail. The exhibition shifts seamlessly between representation and abstraction, inviting viewers into environments shaped by light and atmosphere. Illumination functions both conceptually and literally, guiding the eye through vibrant hues, layered shadows, and dynamic contrast. Together, these pieces form a meditation on nature’s resilience and fragility—an invitation to witness the worlds we inhabit with renewed reverence.
