Solana Beach Clothing Swap Recap!
On Saturday, January 10th 2026, the City held its first ever clothing swap at La Colonia Community Park!
In an effort to encourage sustainable fashion and prevent clothing from ending up in the landfill, the Solana Beach Clothing Swap invited participants to bring in their gently used items of clothing that they may never reach for in their closet to donate and swap at the event. This supports the City's Climate Action Plan goals while helping the community revamp their closet in an environmentally friendly way!
Thanks to over 30 participants who attended the swap, a total of 342.15 lbs of clothing was diverted from the landfill. We hope you had a wonderful time swapping and love your new items!
If you weren't able to attend the swap, or if you still have clothes to clear out of your closet, please consider selling, swapping, or donating good condition items to a local charity instead of throwing it away. If the item is stained or torn, companies such as Ridwell, Trashie, and Retold accept clothing for textile recycling.
